Trump to Buy New Tesla to Support Elon Musk and Fight the Radical Left
Former President Donald Trump announced that he plans to purchase a "brand new Tesla" to show his support for Elon Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla and heads the new Department of Government Efficiency.
In a post on Truth Social Monday night, Trump expressed his admiration for Musk, stating, "To Republicans, Conservatives and all great Americans, Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby,’ in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for."
Trump further added, "They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American. Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???"
The announcement of Trump's purchase comes during a challenging time for Tesla. The company's stock price has fallen by about 42% since the beginning of the year, from an all-time high of $488.54 in December to around $225 per share on the morning of Trump's post. This decline has been accompanied by violent protests against Tesla, with incidents including a Molotov cocktail being thrown at a Cybertruck in Colorado and other attacks on Tesla vehicles in major cities.
Musk has faced increased criticism from left-leaning individuals and politicians for his involvement with the cryptocurrency DOGE. Notable figures including Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have criticized Musk, referring to him as "not smart" and "morally vacant". These critiques come as Musk has proposed significant cuts to federal spending, aiming to reduce the budget by over $1 trillion annually.
During a recent interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, Musk reiterated his plan to lead DOGE for another year. This has positioned him at the center of ongoing discussions regarding government efficiency and spending.
