US stock markets opened almost flat today, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite showing slight increases after a recent day of selling pressure. On the commodities front, gold prices continued to gain due to growing expectations for a potential rate cut in the upcoming US Federal Reserve meeting on November 7. Spot gold was trading up by 0.53% at $2,676.90 an ounce around 10:05 a.m. (GMT-4).

Conversely, crude oil prices faced a downward trend, exacerbating the situation for energy stocks. Brent crude futures were 0.34% lower at $74.1 per barrel, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell by 0.27% to $70.39 a barrel by 10:08 a.m. (GMT-4).
