AQR Capital Management Reduces Stake in SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Growth ETF

AQR Capital Management LLC has announced a reduction of its position in the SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Growth ETF (NYSEARCA:SPYG). In its latest 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company revealed that it decreased its holdings by 11.2% during the second quarter. Following this adjustment, AQR owned 10,272 shares after selling 1,302 shares in that period. At the close of this reporting period, the value of AQR's holdings in the SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Growth ETF stood at approximately $823,000.

Other institutional investors have also made adjustments to their stakes in SPYG recently. Envestnet Asset Management Inc. took significant action, increasing its stake in SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Growth ETF by 125.1% during the second quarter. This brought Envestnet's ownership to 12,065,732 shares, valued at around $966.83 million after acquiring 6,706,045 additional shares during the quarter.

In the first quarter, Dynasty Wealth Management LLC added a new position in the same ETF, estimated at $262.61 million. Meanwhile, LPL Financial LLC raised its holdings by 7.2% during the second quarter, now owning 30,048,719 shares with a total worth of approximately $2.41 billion after purchasing an additional 2,013,457 shares. Cetera Investment Advisers significantly boosted its stake by 282.8% in the first quarter, acquiring a total of 2,192,642 shares valued at around $160.39 million after obtaining an additional 1,619,888 shares. Lastly, Savant Capital LLC increased its stake by 117.6% during the second quarter, resulting in ownership of 2,512,342 shares valued at about $201.31 million, following a purchase of 1,357,615 shares.

On a recent trading day, shares of the SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Growth ETF were noted to open at $83.90. Over the past year, the ETF has experienced a low of $56.78 and a high of $84.16. The 50-day simple moving average of the fund is $80.19, while the 200-day simple moving average is $77.66. With a market capitalization of $28.80 billion, the ETF displays a price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of 27.22 and a beta of 1.14, indicating a level of volatility compared to the broader market.
